2005's 'Tale' author wins Gumshoe Award

All Mortal Flesh , the latest mystery from 2005 "Tale for Three
Counties" author Julia Spencer-Fleming , was the best mystery
of 2006 according to Mystery Ink.
The popular online destination for readers of mysteries and thrillers made its selection Tuesday during its annual Gumshoe Awards.
Spencer-Fleming 's books follow the lives of amateur sleuth the Rev. Clare Fergusson and Russ Van Alstyne, the police chief of a fictional Adirondack town. The series started with In The Bleak Midwinter , the 2005 choice of the "Tale" community reading project in Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties.
All Mortal Flesh , the fifth book, ended with Fergusson questioning her future in the priesthood and her relationship with Van Alstyne.
