Local News: Six people have been chosen

Six people have been chosen to have lunch with Howard Frank Mosher
during the author's visit to the area next week.
The lunch time discussion, set for March 26 at the D&R Depot, Lake
Street, Le Roy, is the prize for a book review contest that was part
of the second "A Tale for Three Counties" community reading
project. Entries consisted of short reviews of Mosher's novel Northern
Borders, which "Tale" is featuring this year.
The winners are Bonnie Bowman of Wyoming, Ann Burlingham of Perry, Nancy Elmore of Le Roy, Meghan DeGolyer Hauser of Perry, Gilbert Jordan of Wyoming and Alice Claire Wilson of Wyoming.
Entries were judged by a small group from the "Tale" organizing committee.
A total of 11 entries were submitted. Excerpts from all the entries will be published in Saturday's Lifestyles/Extra section.
Other entries were submitted by Tally Almquist of Bergen, Janet Lee of Batavia, Wendy M. Scharlau of Medina, Eleanor Strathearn of Warsaw and Florence Williams of Batavia.
The book review contest was one of two new features to "Tale" this year. The other was a film festival featuring three films adapted from Mosher's books.
The final book discussion is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Memorial Community Library, 146 Main St., Attica.
Mosher will present talks and signing books during four visits in Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties from March 25 to 27. The schedule: 7 p.m. March 25 at Richmond Memorial Library, 19 Ross St., Batavia; 7 p.m. March 26 at Lee-Whedon Memorial Library, 620 West Ave., Medina; 10 a.m. March 27 at Arcade Free Library, 365 West Main St., Arcade; and 2 p.m. March 27 in the Letchworth Central School Auditorium.
Each of the programs includes a question-and-answer session with Mosher in which audience members will be able to pose questions of the author.
